Chestnut Gardens Care Home in Purley
Chestnut Gardens is a brand new purpose-built care home in Purley that provides excellent 24-hour residential care in a warm and friendly environment, as well as caring for those living with dementia. Alongside long-term care, we also offer short-term breaks for respite and intermediate care. Our experienced and dedicated team are ready to deliver exceptional standards of compassionate care, which focuses on the individual needs of each resident.
The home features a wide range of facilities including a café serving tea, coffee and homemade cakes, and a collection of dining rooms – some with garden access so ideal for summer nights, a cinema to watch the classics and a relaxing spa bathroom located on each floor of the home. As with all Barchester homes, there is a full and varied schedule of virtual and live activities each and every day which residents are welcome to get involved in as much or as little as they wish.
Dementia Care at Chestnut Gardens
For those living with dementia, there is a dedicated area called Memory Lane which offers high quality care and thoughtful touches to help make life easier. For example features include a Magic Table – this is an interactive light projector that was originally developed in The Netherlands. It's a specialist piece of technology designed to support residents living with dementia.
Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia will be offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood. Meals are freshly prepared on-site by trained chefs, who will offer a range of nutritious and tasty food, catering for special dietary requirements when needed.
