Fordmill Care Home in Angus

We're located in a quiet residential area of Montrose, a small seaside town between Aberdeen and Dundee. Our purpose-built home is set in extensive grounds and is within walking distance of the town centre and the beach. We provide services to frail older people, young physically disabled adults and to people living with dementia, in well-designed accommodation with personalised bedrooms.

Personalised care planning using a range of health assessment tools is key to Fordmill’s approach, with a named nurse and carer system in place to take individual responsibility for planning and review, often based on life history work with the resident and relatives. This is linked to an extensive programme of planned activities.

The best way to find out about our services is to visit us for yourself, we will be more than happy to assist you.

Types of care

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Aileen Alberts

General Manager

Welcome to Fordmill Care Home; my name is Aileen and I am the General Manager here.

I have previously worked in hospitals in Gloucester and Epping, specialising in neurology and breast cancer. On return from the Middle East in 1995, I commenced my career within the care sector. I moved back to Scotland in 2000 to purchase my own care home which I managed with my mother. When my family came along I decided to sell the home and came to work part time at Fordmill in 2004.

My aim in the home is to ensure residents are happy with the care being provided by the team, and I work closely with the staff to ensure the highest standards are achieved. This is reflected in our Care Inspectorate grades and high recommendations on carehome.co.uk.
