Glenroyd Care Home in Blackpool

Glenroyd Care Home is conveniently located in a quiet district of central Blackpool, only minutes away from the beautiful Stanley Park, the seafront and the famous Blackpool Tower. Our home provides high quality 24-hour nursing care, along with fantastic facilities and services for those living with dementia.

Dementia Care

Glenroyd has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our team of highly qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of each resident, creating a uniquely tailored care plan for each person. The dedication of our staff can be seen across the board in our catering, hospitality and the implementation of a varied activities programme.

Choosing a care home can be a daunting process and we are keen to provide you with the help and support you will need to guide you. From the very first moment we talk to you we will endeavour to find out and learn all that we can to provide the best possible service, tailored to individual needs and wants.

We welcome visitors at any time and are happy to offer helpful advice if we can, so please feel free to call us or to drop in.

Types of care

We provide a whole range of person-centred care services for older people in need of nursing or for individuals living with dementia, as well as offering accommodation and support for those requiring residential care in either our Memory Lane or elderly frail units. Our Nurses or Senior Care Assistants will take time to assess the individual needs of residents and tailor our care to them based on their personal requirements. We aim to help people to remain as independent as they can for as long as they are able to. In our latest CQC inspection, we received a ‘Good’ outcome for ‘Caring.’

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Yvonne Hand

General Manager

Hello, my name is Yvonne, and I am honoured to be the General Manager at Glenroyd Care Home.

My journey with Glenroyd began as an agency nurse, and I quickly became attached to the home’s warm, family-like atmosphere. After consistently returning for over a year, I officially joined as Deputy Manager in June 2023 and was thrilled to be promoted to General Manager in November 2024.  The sense of community here is truly special.

Previously, I worked as a Ward Sister at Southport Hospital, working on an acute frail elderly ward, an acute medical short stay unit, and specialising in diabetes care. Caring for the elderly is my passion, and I am privileged to build meaningful relationships with our residents and their families.

As part of the management team, my priorities include ensuring the safety of our residents, providing person-centered care, and enabling them to lead fully enriched lives. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of care, ensuring that each resident feels at home and their families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in caring and professional hands.

I look forward to welcoming you to Glenroyd very soon!
