Lawton Rise Care Home in Goldenhill, Stoke on Trent
Lawton Rise, set in Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, offers specialist dementia care in a warm, home-from-home environment.
Dementia Care
Lawton Rise has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
All rooms all equipped to support those requiring advanced dementia nursing, with the first floor rooms catering for less mobile residents who may require a greater level of care.
Lawton Rise is designed, furnished, decorated and operated to minimise the distress that can be caused by loss of memory, confusion and problems with speech and understanding.
Our staff understand that moving to a new care home can be a challenging transition, so we try to make this process as smooth as possible. This could be by helping residents to arrange the rooms just the way they like, or by preparing their favourite meals. Nothing is too much trouble!

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Jennifer Dale
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am the General Manager here at Lawton Rise. Welcome to our website!
I have worked at Lawton Rise since March 2018 and started my career here as a night nurse, progressing to Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager and then the Manager’s position in October 2019. I have recently supported the home through a CQC inspection achieving a rating of ‘Good’.
After completing my Adult Nursing Degree in 2015 I worked in Acute Medicine and Emergency and Trauma Nursing in the NHS before moving to Lawton Rise, my experience in these areas have proved essential in ensuring that the clinical aspect of our residents care is met. I have always felt very passionate about dementia care and during my time working in Acute Medicine in Manchester, I became a Dementia Champion and Dementia Lead for the Acute Medical Unit.
I am passionate about Person-Centred Dementia and Nursing care and feel that my approachable attitude and knowledge about the home and our residents has a positive impact on our team, relatives and health care professionals.
