Dementia Care
We provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
Residents live in smaller communities with a family feel so that they can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
The village of Melbourn is steeped in history and has some of the most beautiful thatched cottages in the country, and the springs at Melbourn Bury, along with the peaceful River Mel, have also made it very popular with locals and visitors alike.
A great addition to the village has been the Melbourn Community Hub which comprises of the Bookmark Café, the library, parish council offices and it is also a venue for many community activities and events. There are many clubs and societies that meet regularly, in addition to the village’s Mobile Warden Scheme, ensuring that no one is left isolated. The village is renowned for a strong rural, community spirit that continues to thrive, and which Melbourn Springs Care Home is very much a part of.
We have created a video to showcase our stunning care home, which you can view below:
