Ouse View Care Home in York

With commanding views over the North Yorkshire countryside, Ouse View is situated in the historic village of Fulford, site of the 11th century Battle of Fulford. Ouse View has been specifically designed to provide high-quality elderly care, including residential care, as well as care and support for individuals living with dementia.

Dementia Care

We provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.

The home is set in secure, picturesque gardens, and is within walking distance to a variety of local shops and amenities. The renowned McArthurGlen Designer Outlet is also only minutes away by car or one of the area’s excellent local bus services

The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware, will assist with reminiscence. Communities will be broken up into small units with a family atmosphere so people can feel safe and comfortable.

Care will be focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels will reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia will be offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

We have created a video to showcase our stunning care home, which you can view below:

Hi, my name is Bekky, and I am the General Manager here at Ouse View. Welcome to our website!

Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Ouse View has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.

I am responsible for running this beautiful, purpose-built home and my passion is to provide an outstanding service for those that we support in a warm and pleasant environment.

I have worked for Barchester for over 6 years and was previously the Home Administrator for 2 years before being appointed to the role of General Manager at a sister home in March 2020.  I moved to Ouse View in January 2022 and I am looking forward to working with the fabulous team here at the home and building great relationships in the local community.
