White Lodge Care home in Swindon provides 24-hour residential and nursing care as well as personalised dementia care. Our team of highly skilled and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of residents, with a tailored care plan for each person. Set in the heart of rural Wiltshire with views across landscaped grounds and its own fishing lake, the home was awarded the ‘Best Revival Project’ in the Healthcare Design Awards.

White Lodge has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Types of care
White Lodge offers general nursing care, dementia care and residential care over three floors. Each floor has a Unit Manager who is supported by our Clinical Lead to ensure that all documentation is written professionally and that care needs are met. Our Head Housekeeper and her team keeps the home clean and tidy, as well as being a valuable asset to part of the residents' social interactions. Our Head Chef has recently become a finalist in the Great South West Awards, and consistently provides high quality food for residents to enjoy.

Hello - my name is Ramona Gherendi. I am the General Manager here at White Lodge. Welcome to our website!
I joined Barchester in 2018 as a Clinical Lead, progressing to Deputy Manager and then General Manager of White Lodge in 2020. My focus at White Lodge is to ensure residents have the best possible life and experiences every single day, supported by the skilled and caring team here. I am committed to person centred care for all our residents and my door is always open to them and their families.
I have a real passion for nursing beginning my nursing career in 2004 in Romania as a cardiac nurse. I moved to the UK with my family in 2011 and I have worked in adult general nursing in the UK since then.
For anyone considering care for themselves or for a loved one our doors are open for you to visit and meet the team.
