Canmore Lodge Care Home in Dunfermline
Canmore Lodge is a purpose-built home offering 24-hour care and support to older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. Our unique care options are designed to offer residents a person-centred experience and enhanced levels of care.
Dementia Care
Canmore Lodge has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
As with any Barchester home, our commitment to quality is reflected across all aspects of life within our home. Our skilled chefs are passionate about serving nutritious and delicious meals that cater to all tastes and dietary requirements, whilst our activities coordinators work hard to ensure our extensive social programme is tailored to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. Activities include regular day trips in our own minibus to the local beach, pub and other places of interest, as well as musical entertainment and pet therapy – plus much more!
The home is located in a quiet area on the fringe of Dunfermline, where it is close to local amenities and has good local transport links. We welcome visitors at any time, so please come and experience Canmore Lodge for yourself.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Kimberley Laird
Hi, my name is Kimberley and I am the General Manager here at Canmore Lodge. Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one.
I have been with Canmore Lodge since 2011 where I joined the team as a Carer. I then went on to join the Admin team in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant before being promoted to Administrator in 2017. I progressed to Registered Commercial Manager at the beginning of 2024 which has been a great achievement and General Manager from July 2024. I am passionate about the home and the team we have here at Canmore Lodge.
I am devoted to making a positive difference to peoples' lives and ensuring that those we support at the home can live as comfortably as possible.
I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
