Fountains Care Home in Shirley, Solihull

Fountains, our stunning new care home in Solihull has been specifically designed with residents in mind, and provide high-quality residential care, and care for individuals living with dementia in a dedicated environment.

The home is situated on the site that was known for 30 years as 'Shirley Aquatics' and is within walking distance of Nottcuts, Shirley Golf Centre, The Plough (Beefeater) and The Harvester, as well as Tesco, and it also runs along the X20 bus route.

Fountains is a home from home experience, where residents' needs are met with love, respect and consideration, with the focus being on what our residents 'can do' and empowering people to retain their independence. Having our very own mini bus on site, our residents are able to stay connected, involved and part of our local community, allowing long lasting friendships and special memories to be created.

The home has a modern, light design and features a cinema, a private dining space, communal spa baths, adapted cutlery and a personalised activities programme. It is set in stunning landscaped gardens with sensory facilities and low risk walk ways to accommodate individuals with dementia, raised beds to encourage residents to enjoy the outdoor space and a rooftop terrace to relax and unwind in the finer weather. With 80 beautifully designed en-suite rooms and stunning landscape gardens fully equipped with specially designed sensory facilities, we pride ourselves on delivering a home from home experience, where residents' needs are met with love, respect and consideration, creating a home that is truly led by the people that live here.

Our chef provides nutritious and delicious food served in beautiful surroundings, and our own minibus offers excursions as part of a person-centred activities programme. The home is a community hub to connect residents to their neighbours and to promote inclusion and involvement for everyone nearby.

Residential Care

Fountains is a warm and friendly home, providing a comfortable and relaxed way of life for our residents.  We are committed to treating the people we support with respect and dignity and we provide the highest standards of care based on personalised care plans.

Dementia Care

Fountains has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

The community has the latest technology—a 'Magic Table'—to provide sensory engagement. The table is an interactive light projector—a unique piece of technology designed to promote mental and physical stimulation through specialised games.

Our Team

Sara King

General Manager

Hello, my name is Sara and I am the General Manager at Fountains Care Home.

Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Fountains Care Home has to offer to you or your loved one.  Here is an opportunity to find out more about our amazing staff team, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life in our home.

I also want to share a little bit about me.  I joined Fountains as the General Manager in April 24, but have been in managing care homes since 2019.  I attended Wolverhampton University and qualified as a General Nurse in 2012 and headed straight into working in residential care.  I quickly identified this was my passion and over the years progressed through to Unit Manager and Deputy Manager.

I love my job; no two days are the same, I am passionate about improving the lives of our Residents and making sure they live life to the fullest. I also enjoy supporting my team members who want to take part in professional development or training.

Please do pop in any time if you would like a tour of our beautiful home or even to have a cup of tea and chat.
