Lakeside Care Home in Jersey

Lakeside Care Home provides high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care for elderly people, including those living with dementia. The well-established care home is part of Lakeside Village, consisting of Lakeside itself, the equally stunning Lakeside Manor, the premier Lakeside Pavilion independent living apartments, and the famous Mermaid pub, which has been fully refurbished to create the social hub for the village.

All accommodation within Lakeside Care Home consists of spacious single bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The home is fully wheelchair accessible and has generously proportioned communal rooms, a spa/treatment room, a nail bar and hairdressing salon and a small kitchen for residents. Set within beautiful grounds, the home has a view over the adjacent lake and is also within easy reach of Jersey’s many facilities and attractions.

Daily activities on a group and one-to-one basis are an important aspect of planned care at Lakeside Care Home. They include art sessions, exercises, bingo, quizzes, knitting groups, reading groups, cinema sessions, visiting entertainment, reminiscent work and music therapy. The activities team and all care staff are encouraged to regard activities work as an important aspect of their role.

We are always happy to discuss how we can best meet your individual needs, so please feel free to give us a call or, better still, pop in and see Lakeside for yourself.

Types of care

At Lakeside Care Home, we understand that each resident has unique needs. Our individual assessment ensures that our person-centred care approach captures what is actually important to the person and not only the care needs required, but their own wishes as well. Whether this is being active in the home and wanting to be involved in all the activities or preferring to be alone and just read a book. We celebrate each person's individuality and help them to maintain as much independence as possible. We are regulated by the States of Jersey Regulation Team every six months and have good outcomes for residents.

Andy Buttimer

General Manager

Hello. My name's Andy and I am the General Manager here at Lakeside. Welcome to our website.

I’ve been working as a registered mental health, and general health nurse since 1992, more recently becoming an independent nurse prescriber. Having trained with the NHS in London, I moved to Jersey, intending to stay for a short period however 27 years later I’m still here. My focus as General Manager is very much about the resident, and ensuring that all residents receive the very best care that they deserve. It is my privilege to work with, and for, the residents at Lakeside Care Home, and to lead a team of staff that are dedicated to assisting residents to live a fulfilled life.
