We are holding an Open Day on Saturday 8th February. Please come along to meet the team and find out more about life in our home.
Lucerne House Care Home in Exeter
Our purpose-built nursing home is surrounded by beautiful grounds and situated in the pretty Devon village of Alphington on the outskirts of Exeter. We provide first class 24-hour nursing care, alongside expert care for people living with dementia. We also offer personalised care and support for people with multiple sclerosis or a physical disability and we provide care for older people in need of support or with nursing needs. Spread over three distinct units Lucerne is the perfect care environment.
Dementia Care
We also provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
Staff at our nursing home have worked with Dementia Care Matters to improve the quality of life for the people living here in our Memory Lane Community and achieved the independently awarded confirmation of quality of Butterfly Service status in September 2013. The home has extensive secure and wheelchair accessible gardens, including a sensory garden. Personalised care planning feeds into an activities programme supported by our award-winning activities co-ordinator, an enthusiastic staff team and a music therapist. Contacts with local medical services are extremely strong, with the local GP running surgeries twice a week, and a well-established role in the life of the home and its care planning.
You’re welcome to come in to see what we have to offer.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Types of care
We pride ourselves on the delivery of first class, person-centred care, whether it be for younger disabled persons, elderly frail, or dementia residents, the focus is the same: independence, dignity and choice. This can be demonstrated time and time again in testimonials and feedback from families, several of whom come and visit daily.

Our Team
The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Sally Coletti
Hi, my name is Sally Coletti, and I am the General Manager here at Lucerne. Welcome to our website!
I qualified as an RGN from Plymouth University. I am a passionate nurse with a wealth of experience, which includes over 6 years’ experience in A&E departments, and I was the team lead for a team of community nurses in Dorset.
I have a very active role in the lives of all residents, ensuring patient-centred care is delivered by every member of staff to a high standard. In my time as a nurse, I have gained valuable experience and knowledge around caring for the elderly and terminally ill patients. I believe that a holistic approach is crucial to providing gold standard care for the individual and their families.
Making the decision to move yourself or your loved one into a nursing home can be a daunting experience, but I am here to help with that journey, ensuring the decision to move is a positive one, and I will alleviate those fears and anxieties by talking you through that transition.
I will ensure that you or your loved ones are the most important at all times by listening and answering all of those questions you may have. I regard myself as a competent and supportive nurse who empowers and motivates residents to live a fulfilling life.
