Mount Tryon Care Home in Torquay
Mount Tryon Care Home in Torquay provides first-class nursing and residential care for frail older people. We pride ourselves on delivering person-centred care for a variety of needs, ranging from nursing and personal care to illnesses related to ageing and dementia. Our team of highly qualified nursing staff are supported by carers, activities staff and a physiotherapy team, ensuring the well-being of everyone we support.
Dementia Care
Mount Tryon has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
Mount Tryon is ideally located, benefiting from being close to local beaches, the harbour and the town centre. There are breathtaking views and lots of local amenities to enjoy, all within very close range.
The purpose-built home is built over two floors and is fully equipped with assisted baths and equipment to aid safe moving and handling. All the bedrooms are single with en-suite facilities and some have patio doors with access to our beautifully designed gardens. There are several lounges and two dining rooms, where visitors will also be assured a warm welcome.
We welcome visitors and enquiries, so please feel free to drop in or give us a call.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.
