Newington Court Care Home in Sittingbourne
Our home is situated in the village of Newington in the beautiful Kent countryside, on the outskirts of Sittingbourne. The home provides 24-hour nursing care and personal support to frail older people, people with illnesses and disabilities and people living with dementia.
Dementia Care
We provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
We also have an exclusive 8 bed dementia care facility called Falcon Place, which is situated next to the care home.
Support at Newington Court is based on careful assessment, building up a picture of people’s lives that can contribute to regularly reviewed personalised care plans. In turn, these help determine clinical approaches, risk assessment, finding the diet that suits the individuals likes and dislikes and activities picked on the same basis.
Activities at Newington Court include exercise, quizzes, singing and reminiscence. It also includes one-to-one work (sometimes based around manicure, for example, which allows time to talk), trips out with relatives and outings for groups or individuals.
We welcome visitors or callers so please feel free to contact us.

Our Team

Phillis Dzowa
Hello, I’m Phillis and I am the General Manager here at Newington Court.
I have devoted over a decade of my life to the healthcare sector and I have particularly enjoyed working with the team at Newington Court. My passion for providing quality care to the elderly and vulnerable has been the driving force behind my successful career. Throughout the years, I have honed my skills and gained invaluable experience in managing a care home and I have demonstrated my unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the residents.
My journey in the healthcare sector began shortly after completing my nursing qualification in Zimbabwe. Eager to make a difference in the lives of others, I found myself drawn to pursue a career in Elder Care. I joined Newington Court in 2017 as a Registered Nurse and I worked my way up to a management position. I enjoy staying up to date with latest developments in the healthcare sector and networking with other professionals. I value the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas that aim to enhance the quality of care that we provide.
I find fulfilment in leading my team to provide exceptional care and support to residents. As a General Manager, I thrive in creating a positive and inclusive work environment for the team, where they can be motivated to deliver their best. I enjoy actively engaging with residents and their families, fostering strong relationships built on trust and respect. At Newington Court, we understand the importance of creating a warm and nurturing environment within the care home, where residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.
