Seaview House Care Home in Wick
Situated on the outskirts of the market town of Wick on the North Coast of Scotland, Seaview House Care home is well known in the area for its warm and friendly atmosphere. Our home offers 24-hour nursing care and support to frail older people and to people living with dementia. We base our approach to care on maintaining dignity, independence and choice.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
The home is single storey and purpose-built, with well-maintained and secure gardens to the front and rear, which boast superb views across the sea and along the coastline. All rooms have en-suite facilities.
Our team of dedicated staff tailor their approach to care based on the individual needs of each resident. And our dedication can be seen across the board - in our care, cooking, activities, regular outings and pet therapy sessions for our residents.
We pride ourselves on our hospitality: meals are excellent. We take care to ensure that people have exactly the food and drink that they most enjoy and that their dining experience is relaxed and unhurried.
We think having a range of activities on offer is really important. Residents bake, garden and take regular trips out amongst other choices. By working with residents and relatives on personal care plans we can find out together what people most want to do and what we can do to help.
We have an active resident’s committee which ensures resident involvement in life at Seaview House
We are always happy to welcome visitors and to take calls – we will offer advice when we can.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Types of care
At Seaview we provide person-centred nursing care services for older people in need of care and support. It is important to us that our care services are delivered in a way that celebrates each person’s individuality and helps them to maintain as much independence as possible, so we tailor our services to meet the unique needs of each person providing meaningful activity each day. This could include personal one-to-one time with staff members when needed, regular visits from a chiropodist or just adhering to special dietary requirements.
