Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island

Wimborne is a picturesque single story house set in charming gardens close to all the local amenities of Hayling Island. It is a friendly purpose-built home providing care and support to frail older people and to people living with dementia.

Dementia Care

Wimborne is a friendly mixed community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Wimborne provides a programme of activities including outings and visits to local churches, pubs and community centres. There are also regularly scheduled groups activities and personally tailored one-to-one care planning, with life-skills work designed to promote independence and choice.

We always welcome visitors so why not drop in and see for yourself?

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Sarah Peach

General Manager

Hello. My name is Sarah, and I am the General Manager here at Wimborne Care Home. Welcome to our website.

I have worked within the care sector since 1991 and I am very passionate about my role and responsibilities. Right from the beginning, I knew that this was where I belonged.

I joined Barchester in July 2018 as a General Manager and I really enjoyed getting to know the company, my home, my staff team, the residents and their families and friends. I spent just over two years in one home as the General Manager receiving an outstanding kloe in Caring and good in the other four kloes in their CQC inspection before transferring to commission a new build in November 2020.
Whilst within the company I have also supported other homes in the absence of the General Manager and inducted and supported new build General Managers with the commissioning of their homes.

I am excited to be a part of the team at Wimborne and I aim to ensure, as a team, that we deliver a high standard of person-centred care to those we support, placing them at the heart of everything we do and meeting individual needs with the passion and commitment they deserve.
