Woodhorn Park is a purpose-built home for frail older people and for people living with dementia. It is located in the very heart of the town centre of Ashington with good public transport links and plenty of local amenities on its doorstep.

The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Care at Woodhorn Park is based on personalised care planning, drawn up with the individual concerned and their relatives, tailored to their needs and reflecting their choice of lifestyle.

Types of care
Woodhorn Park provides person-centred care for people who are elderly frail or who are living with dementia. It is important that our care services are delivered to each person's individual needs and promotes independence as much as possible. We also receive regular visits from health care professionals such as chiropodists and dieticians. Hi, my name is Emma and I am the General Manager here at Woodhorn Park. Welcome to our website.
My aim is to ensure residents, staff, families and visitors all feel they are in a caring, welcoming environment and being supported by every member of our team.
I began my career as a Home Administrator then progressed to Commercial manager within Woodhorn Park and have gained experience and qualifications to progress to my current role. Barchester has a high standard of care and superior lifestyle delivered throughout the company, and I endeavour to deliver those same values in our home. I always enjoy spending time with residents and their families, and am always available for a chat about our home, staff, services and most importantly, our residents.
