Lynda Hamilton-Shaw

General Manager

Hi, I'm Lynda, the General Manager here at Awel-Y-Mor, and I would like to welcome you to our home.

I started at Awel-Y-Mor in January 2013 and became General Manager in October 2015. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring all staff provide excellent care to residents, and promoting a happy and friendly atmosphere in which family and friends can feel welcome and know their loved one is cared for and supported.

I take my responsibilities very seriously, and the residents are at the heart and are the driving force behind all the decisions I make. I am proud to work for Barchester and lead such a caring and compassionate team, and my individual successes are down to each and every member of staff that work at Awel Y Mor. I was nominated for and was awarded Welsh Nurse of the Year in the Wales care Awards in 2022, and I was awarded Divisional General Manager of the Year in the Barchester Care Awards in 2023, and I certainly wouldn’t have those accolades without the support of my wonderful team, who are all dedicated to the residents, and we encourage a friendly and warm environment for them and for their loved ones.
