Llys-Y-Tywysog Care Home in Swansea
A warm welcome to the web pages of Llys-y-Tywysog Care Home in Swansea. Our purpose-built home is located in the village of Grovesend, easily accessible from the M4 motorway and close to the many nearby attractions such as the beautiful Gower peninsula and Mumbles Bay.
Our home is warm and friendly, providing a comfortable and relaxed way of life for our residents. Food is a real source of enjoyment here and our Head Chef Andy, ensures that the dining experience is of an exceptionally high standard, catering for individual choices and dietary requirements as needed. Andy's care and attention in his food was recognised when he won the ‘Catering in Care Gold Award’ at The Wales Care Awards in 2013.
We are committed to treating the people we support with respect and dignity and we provide the highest standards of care based on personalised care plans. Nothing is too much trouble for our team, many of whom have been with us over 10 years.
Residents also enjoy a varied programme of activities and social engagement. Our dedicated activities coordinator organises clubs, events and daily activities including arts and crafts, baking, gardening, games and quizzes, barbecues, themed cookery nights, visits from entertainers and regular trips out - to name but a few! Hello, I am Michelle the General Manager of Lys-Y-Tywysog. Welcome to our website!
I have worked at Llys-Y-Tywysog for over 20 years, I really have worked in every department and I love every element of the job! In 2019 I completed the QCF Level 5 in management to become Deputy Manager and was delighted to be appointed General Manager in 2021.
It is so rewarding working in this wonderful home and I am honoured to lead such a committed team. I am sure we have one of the longest serving teams of any home, with a number of the team having worked at Llys for over 10 years and some over 20 years. I am passionate about delivering excellent care to residents and enriching their lives every day with the focus on person centred care. We also offer a fantastic life enrichment programme with fun and varied activities and events.
I am here to offer support to the residents, their families and the team. For anyone considering care for themselves or for a loved one our doors are open for you to visit and meet the team.
