Leonard Lodge Care Home in Brentwood

Leonard Lodge is a purpose-built nursing home located on the Hutton Poplars, towards the outskirts of Brentwood. The home offers nursing care, residential care, dementia care and respite care. Shenfield High Street is within walking distance. It has a numbers of shops and eateries and also the mainline train station. We are lucky enough to be in a lovely quiet area backing onto woodlands. The site where our home is located was originally a Dr Barnardos children’s home, built in 1906. A small area of the children’s home has been preserved in its original form and can be seen as you drive onto the estate.

Dementia Care

The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

We have a long-standing and dedicated team who strive to provide the best quality care for residents, including respite care. Our registered nurses are at the home twenty four hours a day to ensure the development of a tailor-made care plan for every individual’s needs.

We are always happy to meet with you and offer a guided tour of our facilities and grounds. Why not drop in for a cup of coffee and see for yourself?

Types of care

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.
