Red Oaks Care Home in Henfield

Red Oaks is ideally situated only a short distance from the centre of the tranquil village of Henfield, and set in 2.5 acres of formal gardens. Red Oaks is a purpose-built home providing 24-hour nursing care to older people, including those living with dementia. We also have a number of assisted living apartments available, situated in Rayner Court.

Dementia Care

Red Oaks has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing care that affords the best possible alternative for those who are no longer able to manage at home. Our approach to care is based upon personalised care-plans, which ensure that each person is treated with respect and their independence and choices are maximised.

The home is finished and furnished to an extremely high standard, offering a homely yet spacious environment. Red Oaks is proud of its beautifully maintained and award-winning gardens, which both residents and visitors can enjoy all year around. Our dining rooms enjoy unrivalled views across the home's beautiful grounds and our team of chefs are passionate about producing nutritional meals, which are appetising and varied.

We work hard to ensure that we provide a lifestyle full of choice and activities that are centred around residents' own interests, including regular trips out around the region, taking full advantage of the home’s mini-bus. The expertise of our caring team enables each resident to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they are able.

Why not pop in for a cup of tea and see all that we have to offer for yourself?

Linda Ryan

General Manager

Hi, my name is Linda and I am the General Manager here at Red Oaks. Welcome to our website!

My passion for working with older people in a nursing home environment started with my first registered manager position in 2003. My career has also included positions such as a Practice Development Nurse and a Dementia Specialist. Before Barchester, I was a Director of Care for a luxury retirement village, commissioning both a nursing home and a domiciliary care service. This position involved managing, coaching and mentoring the registered managers.

I am proud of being able to make a difference to peoples' lives by providing high quality, person-centred care in a supportive learning environment within an open and fair culture.

My door is always open for a coffee (or tea) and a chat, whether that is for residents, relatives or staff members.
