Briardene has a dedicated therapy team comprising of a Therapy Co-ordinator, Activities Organiser, Holistic Therapist and a Music Therapist. The therapy team have a fundamental role in delivering meaningful activities and therapies to this specific client group.

The team implement meaningful interventions with life enrichment to maintain and improve the whole of the wellbeing. This is supported with the use of a well-planned and sourced Activity life enrichment programme, full of choice and variety to suit the hobbies, likes, and interests of those that reside at Briardene.

The holistic therapist provides physical and mental health support to the clients ranging from lymphatic drainage and massage to Reiki, talking therapies and relaxation. This holistic treatment aids in maintaining physical wellbeing and offers great emotional support. The music therapy at Briardene encourages communication, positive interaction and further emotional support through the use of music.

The Therapy team promotes using non pharmacological interventions to calm, relax and enhance wellbeing in those with distress, reducing pain, promoting independence and recovery, and most of all to enjoy life to the best of their ability.

Our team pride themselves on having a non-judgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity towards the unique needs and diverse experiences of others, with an approach to therapy that creates a safe and supportive environment where residents and their families can be seen and heard.
